“Today was the first meeting of the #generationIB team.
We as a team met around 10:00 am . Our facilitators informed us about the meeting. The group members had no clue about #generationIB. Upon arrival at school, we were greeted by our facilitators, Ma’am Sabahat Tatari, Ma’am Aruj Khaliq, Mr. Umar Farooq, Ma’am Aimen Shahid, and Ma’am Saima Anjum. We sat down in the fancy meeting room, and could not resist but think that it all felt like a secret rendezvous where we had all been called for an urgent mission. After the introduction, our facilitators presented the idea behind #generationIB and what it stood for. We got knowledge about the project #generationIB, that aims to encourage young IB learners to ponder and propose solutions to the greatest issues of today. We all became much inquisitive and excited knowing that we had been provided with this astounding opportunity to create an impact in our society.

As the different themes for the project were introduced, we were all already thinking and sharing the possible projects we could take up. It was amazing to see everybody contribute. As more and more ideas began to flow, the decision for the final selection became harder and harder. At first we all thought about choosing the theme of Education and Literacy, and thus to get us started the facilitators gave us all 10 minutes to individually think and write down the different issues that come to our mind under the selected theme. After presenting our points, the conversation took a little turn as some of the team members suggested that we should opt for another theme as the problems under that seem to be more relatable to our city. The choice became tougher and tougher because there were so many relevant ideas that we could have opted for Huh, well….After a long thought provoking session the meeting ended with the facilitators giving us the task to create project proposals and prepare ourselves to present in the upcoming meeting”
